Admissions Requirements

To enroll, you must be at least 16 years of age, and have successfully completed at least 10 grades in secondary school, or the equivalent. Prospective student must have 2 forms of valid identification: i.e. a driver’s license and a social security card, or a state identification with a photo ID.

Refresher Course

The Refresher Course program is structured to provide the student with the foundational skills, information, and advanced training through certified instructors that will properly guide the student towards successfully completing the program and pass the licensure required by The Alabama Board of Cosmetology. Our goal is to empower each student with the business tools and education they need to master their expertise!

 

Program Hours

375 Hours

The above hour requirements must be met by each student in order for the earned hours to be accepted by the regulatory agency for examination purposes. 


Course Format

The Refresher Course program uses various workbooks and textbooks used in a classroom setting, practical setting, and a combination of both on topics that are included in the course materials that are desired for academic completion.

Students enrolled in the Refresher Course program will receive lecture and training from knowledgeable and skilled licensed instructors that have professional experience in the Cosmetology and Esthetics curriculum for examination preparation for Alabama Board of Cosmetology and Barbering written and practical examination material.

Natural Hair Course

The Natural Hair program is structured to provide students with the latest information in Natural Hair Care and Braiding, including how to perform the most in-demand hair styles and services in order to successfully complete the program and pass the licensure required by the Alabama Board of Cosmetology and Barbering. Our school is equipped to educate our students for preparation for state licensing examinations, initial employment, and career advancement.

 

Program Hours

210 Hours

The above hour requirements must be met by each student in order for the earned hours to be accepted by the regulatory agency for examination purposes.  The generous portion of miscellaneous hours is to be applied as needed in curriculum-related areas or if the student desires to specialize in a specific area.


Course Description

The Natural Hair curriculum is designed to provide competence-based knowledge, scientific/artistic principles and hands-on fundamentals associated with the Natural Hair and Braiding industry. The curriculum provides a simulated salon environment, which enables students to develop manipulative skills. Our program focuses on teaching Natural Hair care techniques in Shampooing, Blow-Drying, Brush Styles, Sew-Ins, Braiding, Twisting, Locs, and other types of extension applications.


Course Format

Our program uses Milady Standard Natural Hair Care And Braiding (1st Edition) Textbooks and Workbooks in a classroom setting, practical setting, or a combination of both on topics that are included in the course materials. Our program will provide students additional training to perform on guests including various types of Natural Hair Treatments and Braiding Techniques.

Students enrolled in the Natural Hair program will receive lecture and training from knowledgeable and skilled instructors that have professional industry related experience in the Natural Hair industry.

Esthetics Course

The Esthetics program is structured to provide students with the latest information in skin care, including how to perform the most in-demand procedures and services in order to successfully complete the program and pass the licensure required by the Alabama Board of Cosmetology and Esthetics. Our school is equipped to educate students with multiple machines including high frequency, galvanic, vacuum, Hydrafacial, Microcurrent, Jet Clear, Microdermabrasion, Ultrasonic skin scraper, skin tightening radiocurrent, and dermaplane for initial employment and career advancement.

1000 Hours

The above hour requirements must be met by each student in order for the earned hours to be accepted by the regulatory agency for examination purposes.  The generous portion of miscellaneous hours is to be applied as needed in curriculum-related areas or if the student desires to specialize in a specific area.


Course Description

The Esthetics curriculum is designed to provide competence-based knowledge, scientific/artistic principles and hands-on fundamentals associated with the Esthetics industry. The curriculum provides a simulated salon environment, which enables students to develop manipulative skills.


Course Format

Our program uses Milady Standard Esthetics Fundamentals (11th Edition) Textbooks and workbooks in a classroom setting, practical setting, or a combination of both on topics that are included in the course materials.Our program will provide students additional training to perform on guests including various types of treatments (Jet Clear, microdermabrasion, waxing, make-up application, etc.)

Students are also provided training on numerous products by various vendors and are eligible for additional Certifications. Students practice with cutting edge machinery equipping them with hands-on training in modern electronic therapy treatments that are found in spas, salons, and medical offices around the country.

Students enrolled in the Esthetics program will receive lecture and training from knowledgeable and skilled instructors that have professional industry related experience.

Massage Therapy Course

Our massage program is structured to provide students with the theory and practical knowledge to become competent therapists. Our course is designed to surpass Alabama State Requirements to meet the hourly requirements of 98% of the states in the country. Our course provides specialty certifications in Hot/Cold Stone Massage, Aromatherapy, Pre-natal Massage, Stretching/Sports Massage, and Cupping Therapy for all students graduating from the program. This provides our students access to advanced knowledge to feel prepared when beginning their career as a licensed Massage Therapist.

Cosmetology Course

Upon completion of the Cosmetology course requirements, the determined graduate will be able to: project a positive attitude, practice effective communication skills, respect the need to deliver worthy service for value received in an employer-employee relationship, perform the basic manipulative skills in the areas of hair care, skincare, and nail care, perform the basic analytical skills to determine appropriate services to achieve the best look for guests, and apply academic and practical learning and related information to ensure sound judgments, decisions, and procedures.

The Cosmetology curriculum is designed to provide competence-based knowledge, scientific/artistic principles and hands-on fundamentals associated with the Cosmetology industry. The curriculum provides a simulated salon environment, which enables students to develop manipulative skills.


Course Format

Our program uses Milady Standard Cosmetology theory workbook (13th Edition) Textbooks and workbooks are used in a classroom setting, practical setting, and a combination of both on topics that are included in the Milady course materials.

Our program will provide students advanced training to perform various treatments on guests including (Balayage, Hair Extensions, Wigs, Permanent and semi-permanent color, shampoo, cut, style, highlights, scalp treatments, facials, manicures, etc.) Students are also provided educational class training on numerous products taught by various vendors (Alfaparf, Morrocan Oil, Keune, etc.) and are eligible for additional Certifications.

Cosmetology students also learn advanced skin care training using cutting edge machinery equipping them with hands-on experience with modern electronic therapy treatments that are found in spas, salons, and medical offices around the country. Students enrolled in the cosmetology program will receive lecture and training from knowledgeable and skilled instructors that have professional industry related experience.

Instructor Course

To provide the student with the advanced skills, information, and advanced teacher training through certified and reliable instructors that will properly instruct and guide the student towards successfully completing the instructor program and pass the licensure required by The Alabama Board of Cosmetology. Our goal is to empower each student with the business tools and education they need to master their expertise!

The above hour requirements must be met by each prospective instructor in order for the earned hours to be accepted by the regulatory agency for examination purposes.


Course Description

The instructor course will give you hands-on experience every day, teaching student instructor’s different practical aspects of their training. You will also get to develop and perform your own lecture to a class of students on a particular subject. You will learn how to make and develop lesson plans, learn classroom management skills and other important and vital parts of being a professional educator.


Course Format

Our master instructor program uses the master educator workbook (3rd Edition) Textbooks and workbooks are used in a classroom setting, practical setting, and a combination of both on topics that are included in the course materials.

Waxing Course

To provide the student with the foundational skills, information, and advanced training through certified and reliable instructors that will properly instruct and guide the student towards successfully completing the program and pass the licensure required by The Alabama Board of Cosmetology. Our goal is to empower each student with the business tools and education they need to master their expertise!

 

In compliance with the Alabama Board of Cosmetology and Esthetics Statutes and Regulations ( SS34-7B-23), you must have a manicurist license prior to successfully obtaining a  wax license.

 

Program Hours

160 Hours

The above hour requirements must be met by each student in order for the earned hours to be accepted by the regulatory agency for examination purposes. 


Course Description

This course is depicted of any person, other than a student or apprentice, who learns the required skills to perform a combination of the practices of manicure and waxing on the general public, and who shall satisfy the qualifications and licensure requirements provided in our course format for a manicurist/waxer.

Workbook materials are provided by the school based on individual chapters from Milady course materials.
